Default OT: Duramax /Allison question

A friend of mine is picking his new 2500HD up next week and has a couple of questions

1) what is up with the towing at 50mph for 500miles thing? He said he read that in the owners
manual.

2) Is there a problem putting bigger tires on it ?
if there is how is it corrected.

26scarab,

Towing at that speed for 500 miles is pretty standard. It's a break-in thing. I wouldn't do it for a few thousand myself.

The speedo can be calibrated at the dealer by computer with no problems.
