anyone running electric drum brakes? i had surge but the master cylinder blew out. it is a 1993 eagle and the master cylinder slides into the tongue. i can convert each drum backing plate to electric for $45 a side. but the guys at midwest wheel say they cant get wet. i have see onther boat trailers advertise electric brakes. or are they talking electric over hydraulic? the kicker is my truck has towcommand. and it is a sweet system on all my other trailers. and i have this surge brake crap on my boat. anyone else running this setup? pros and cons.

I have electric brakes because the surge system was shot totally. You must unplug before dipping and allow to dry for a mile or two. They work well, no complaints. I have a prodigy controller- by far the BEST out there. I tow horse trailers two so I like electric brakes.
