Angry Lake Travis 2009

Is there going to be any water in Lake Travis come July 4th? We are only about 4 feet away from losing the Mansfield ramps. Where else can you launch in such low water levels?

Once Mansfield is closed that's it.

lake will have to drop another ten feet before mansfield closes.
in 2006 it got down to 642 and people were still using the ramp.
Lake is dropping approx at 1 foot a week so by July 4th ramp will still be fine.
Here are public ramps still open:

Jones Brothers Park 645

Mansfield Dam 640
All four lanes open.

Sandy Creek 648 Travis County

you can find all this info at lcra.org

The ramp at my marina is still good until 635.
There is still about 50ft of water right at the shore under my boat
parked in the slip!
I kind of like it when the lake gets lower,it scares all the out-of-townies away
who dont realize how deep the lake actually is..

I stand corrected about Mansfield. I probably looked at the wrong ramp.

Thanks

Has anyone put in lately at Mansfield? I did see the information above which is very helpful, but was looking to see if someone has put a 38-40 footer in without issues. With the lake only 8 foot above the closure mark I wanted to make sure there was enough ramp for the trailer. Looking at making a run this weekend and checking out my options on the ramps. Thanks in advance for the help

The ramp has two lanes that go way deeper then the other 2. In 2006 two of the lanes were too short for the bigger boats. I am thinking the deeper ramps are the ones closer to the dam but I may be wrong.

We were in Devil's Cove Sunday & anchored in 49' of water. As you run and pay attention to the water you can see where it is shallow by the different (browner) color.

Went by the ramp Saturday and they were putting in some big boats. Just remember as said before lake is gong down about 1.2' per week so July 4th might be around 644.7
