Question Baja "bounce"

Changed props from 25P 3 blade Mirage plus to 23P 4 blade Powertech's. Helped some on the porpoise problem. Was told I needed a stern lifting prop. That is what the powertech is supposed to be. Has hole shot from hell and only lost around 3mph top side. Which is fine with me. Question if I had props cupped more would that help on porpoise? Cannot trim much at all. Less than a quarter. Boat is Baja 290 sport with 9' beam. Was told porpoise was due to prop losing bite and allowing bow to drop and then bite again. Is that so. Have friend with identical boat and it does the same.
Thanks

My 23ft SeaCraft is doing the same thing, what I have discovered is any prop that tries to lift the bow just makes it worse. At this time I'm running a Bravo-1 prop and it is better but no cigar. I want to try a Hydromotive Quad IV next.

Going to the Q4 will lift the stern so much it can't porpoise because it can't hold water and carry the bow. The top end will suffer and it will bow steer more the faster you go. Not the correct way to fix the problem.

Check this site out................http://teambajamarine.com/

Go to the forums and look at the prop section. WAAAYY to much information to repeat here! I love and support this site since the day Steve asked me to but, if you are a BAJA owner or a tru V hull owner, this other site needs a gander.

Have fun.
