I have a 1987 Christ Craft 230 Limited with a 8.2 gsi volvo Penta motor matted to a bravo1. The motor has a crane cam part#168731 lift intake 587 @valve & 610 exhaust. 58mm throttle body, mild head porting, roller rockers, Long travel crane roller lifters, the ecu was programed by Arizona speed and marine. 11 hours into running the motor it developed a low nocking sound rear of motor. Last week end was running it at 4,000 rpm steady and it suddenly lost power, oil every where. It came out the dip stick. Tore the engine down and found #7 piston melted bad, also #3 starting to go. I couldn't hear any pinging, the Gil headers are pretty loud. I'm about to test the injectors to see if the are clogged, it looks like #7 has rust in the end of the injector. All gaskets looked good, no signs of vacum leaks. Any ideas? The pistons are JE700 no holes in them, just melted into a very odd shape. I need to bore and replace the pistons. Any help on which ones to use. I'm wanting to be able to run premium and keep it normally aspirated. Thanks
