I usually put a pretty good coat of LPS or wd40 throughout my bildge before I dunk the boat every weekend.....anybody else do this??? what do you use?????

yep each and every single time we race in salt the entire bilge gets hosed down with WD-40. We also spend time de salting after every race to, makes clean up a breeze.

I also hose my pleasure boat down with WD before winter storage

I usually clean up bilge, engines with simple green and then coat everything with WD-40. I do this on my boats, dirtbikes, trucks......
It keeps everything like new.

WD-40 is a solvent as well; heard CRC is much better so I use that instead.

Brackish water so do it about every other month on outboards

CRC works well and you can get in a gallon can

I lube my bilge all the time.

I am just asking, But isn't WD 40 pretty flammable stuff???? You want your bilge full of flammable vapors????

I have never heard of this and would not even think of it.

Me too, usually not by choice.

Why not use a silicone spray like armor all. We use it on every engine at the car lot. Alot less flamable than penatrating oil! Seems like alot easier clean up as well.
