Exhaust hose on outdrive?

I have had a block off plate on my transum for about 5 years now. I just noticed the hose has a big crack in it running from the transum to the outdrive. Do most of you guys not using the Y pipe just have this hose removed? I am thinking about removing it.

I just pull them off. If you have the Y pipe blocked off, the hose is unnessesary.
