Default 377 scorpion motor problem

buddys 02 292 with 377 scorpion motors and only 65 hours was running today and 1 motor shut down and now wont start, the motor turns over fine but the dipstick shows way over full but no metal,, im thinking maybe a cracked manifold or blown gasket and the oil pressure switch shut down the fuel pump due to pressuer drop,, anyone any past issues with this motor like this or any ideas.

thanks

Hi Stieny. I think I seen you out on the Delaware this weekend? I was in the red CAT. I'm pretty sure I seen you? Name is Bill, flag me down if you see me out there. Nice boat!

If it was water, the oil would be milky. Most likely its fuel and the fuel pump is shot and is pumping it into the engine.

the oil was like brand new, no water, no milk, no bubbles. NO odor of fuel .The oil was changed about 10 hrs before this problem. I did it. The oil level was checked after pumping the oil out this included punching a hole in the top of filter and giving it time to drain down to the pan the oil level was checked before, to make sure it was empty, after refilling and was checked after it was fired up. The boat was run on a lake where we did 10-20 mile runs 2-3 times a day for 3 days. then brought home for a few short blasts on our river at home. Thats when it shut down and had oil (not that much) running down the back of the motor and when I checked the dipstick the oil level was about 6" above the full line. Like I said very clean oil. What would cause something like this? anyone ever heard of some kind of oil sensor at the back of a scorpion motor going bad and causing something like this??

6 inches above the full line ? Can you smell fuel in the oil ?

I have Scorpion engines but have never heard of such a problem.

It has to be water or fuel. Oil does not multiply.

If it is "pure" oil (no water or gas) then I guess somebody must have added that oil.
