I built this boat for my good Friend Barry Newman. He was described by the Boston Globe as a "Bon Vivant". Drove a turbo Porsche and had as his second boat a 60 foot Chris Craft Roamer and a twin engne plane.
Barry always wanted to go in a real open ocean race, so I let him ride one year in the Freeport NY race. I told him...."All you have to do is start the stop watches in front of you when the race starts."
Race starts.......the run to the first checkpoint and it is Bill Elswick in Long Shot, me in Top Banana and Betty in KAAMA, we round the first mark, I look over and all the watches were still on zero....he was frozen with an adrenaline rush.....never let him forget it. He died at 45 with an aneurism. RIP

Good luck with the new project. I hope yours does give mine a run for the money, call me if you need any info on where I got a lot of parts from. Oh and for my $.02, I have a few ideas on things that worked well on mine and didn't. I heard my engine run for the first time in person today and it sounds nastyyyy !!
