Hi guys, I am planning on buying newboat this summer. It seems like a good time with the low price's out there. I am looking at a o3 29' fever with a Merc 575 SCI with 94 hours
it.I have friend with the same boat with a 500.my question is
there much diff between the 500,525, or the 575?And please
don"t say 25 and 75 HP. witch one is the better long term.

Not much HP diff. between a 525 EFI and a 575 SCI, for what I've read and heard. That was one of the reasons that Merc. stopped making the 575 SCI. The 525 EFI is good motor, EXCEPT for the header leaking problem that they seem to have.
