Default 502 Mag Coupler

Hey guys, i have lurked for a while and enjoy the boards.
Almost everyone is very helpful.
I have, what may be, a stupid question.
On my bravo drive coupler, flywheel side, should the splines have some sort of plug or open to the flywheel?
Thanks in advance.
