I remember reading about those when they were first built.

Have seen one, but only on here.

I don't get it. Besides the obvious, why would you want to get in and out from here? Is this for when the boat is on the trailer and the freeboard is too high to climb over?

I thought this was a photoshop joke when I first saw it.

I think it was so you can get in and out at the beach. I think, but don't know that for sure.

It was for when you beach it, made it easier to get out, then getting in the water. Why would U want to get in the water?

I can just imagine the mold growing in the cabin from frequent visits from swimmers

Not that much freeboard for it to make much sense. Now if it were a cooler access, that would be a different story.

saw that last year in Havasu. Thought it was kinda cool but definitely inland lake use only.

wow, that is a terrible idea on a boat. why not just integrate a hidden ladder onto the bow like deck boats sometimes have if they want to make it easier for getting on and off at the beach?

The possibilities for trouble down the line with a door right there seems limitless.
