Default Baja Hammer guys..... Grounding Block?

Like title says..... Where is the grounding block on the transom?

Temp gauge just started messing up... it's showing something like 100 degrees and I ran it for 4 hours yesterday.

Oil Pressure is showing about 15 PSI at idle and about 36 PSI tops at WOT. Same thing..... Just started this yesterday.

The Tach stopped working at the end of last summer.....

Tilt and trim gauge acts like and ******* and goes where it wants to go.....

Volts never shows above 12 volts and I know it is 13.74 at the alternator

Fuel works great.

Speedo is off water pressure so, it work.

Out of all the gauges on the boat..... none of the important ones work correctly.

I took the gauges out and cleaned the backs of the connections at the time of winterazation last year.

So, would you all agree I have a problem with the grounding block being corroded?

Where is it located?

My boat has started doing the same thing. I'm interested in seeing the responses.

While I don't know about the grounding block on a Hammer. Did you try the grounds on the block to see if they are clean and tight? I imagine your having issues in both places with saltwater.

I had a similar issue. Turned out to be the wire coming off the dead man switch. It was loose on the spade terminal, and the wire in the spade connector was also not making good contact. Once I fixed it, the volts were back up to just under 14V. Try just removing that lower panel, turn on the boat and fiddle with the wires on the switch. At least it worked for me.

I will work on the ground on the block today also.... I have thought about that too. I will also have to look for that one too. I assume the battery NEG goes straight to it. Thanks bud.

Battery negative goes directly to the block. I would check there.

Think we are alittle off subject.... I know where the battery grounds too..... I am having gauge problems....... where is the main grounding point for these type of accessories? I have heard it called a "grounding block" Not the block of the engine.

Thanks for the replies.

Good thing is I put a manual pressure gauge on the block and I have 42 PSI of oil pressure at idle. I now have a warm and fuzzy about running the boat again.

Still would like to know if anyone knows where the electrical grounding block is........ Raining again yesterday so I didn't get to pull the dash apart....

Behind the helm; maybe?
