Those boats are quick ... and deadly if you don't know how to handle a stepped hull. The 33 AVS is an excellent boat and they do handle well. But you do need to know how to correctly drive a stepped hull. Specifically no quick high speed turns. Check with some other boaters that run stepped hulls for their advice. Tres Martin runs a boating school that teaches how to do that correctly.
Good luck and I hope you get the boat.

It's a great boat and handles well. High speed turns in any boat is a recipe for disaster. Which ones are you looking at? I may consider selling mine. Fresh 540's and fresh bravos. Still playing with props so speed is yet to be seen.

I have owned 3. 1 w/ 502s, 1 w/ 500s (hooked and rolled that one) and my current w/ 600s and Volvo DPX drives. I liked the first 2 but I LOVE the 3rd. The DPX drives made a good boat even better. Powerboat Mag agreed when they did write ups on both bravo driven and DPX driven boats some years ago.
bottom line is they are good fun boats but if you can find one with a Volvo setup, resale and public opinion aside, they are an even better boat.
