I have a Weiand 6-71 marine blower that I think is in need of a rebuild. Can anyone recommend a good place to send it out for this kind of work? I did a google search and it looks like there are a few places out there that do this but it would be nice to hear some feedback.

I did both of my 8-71's myself last year, pretty easy.

Cool, I didn't think it was something I could do myself but prefer it that way. I imagine I would need some sort of gasket kit, bearings, and teflon seals. Where did you get your parts from?

As long as your rotors are straight and no teflon tips it's pretty easy to rebuild. Dissasembly is most important because the rotors are timed and they have to go back together the same way they came apart. Some blowers have shims behind the gears which time the rotors while others are machined so they are timed correctly. My gears were machined so there were no shims to worry about, I just had to make marks on the rotors and the gears before pulling it all apart.

I spent roughly $200+ in bearings, seals and gaskets.
