Default How do you remove cable from teleflex helm?

I have a mechanical rotary tilt teleflex helm on a 98 25 baja outlaw. This was acutally set up with two cables, I need to remove one because I need to replace the power steering actuator and Merc no longer makes an actuator for a dual cable setup. The cable goes into the rotary mechanism and has a large pin that is supposed to be pulled out and then inserted into another hole. How do I remove the cable? Am I also supposed to have the wheel cranked all the way to the right? The cable is run down the starboard side of the boat. Does anyone know if I can remove the rotary mechanism once I remove the cable? Since this is a dual cable settup, there are 2 rotary mechanisms stacked on top one another. Can I remove the one on top? Does it matter?

Thanks in advance
Allen

there is a small hole that you must insert the provided pin into which will relwase a loking mechanism to allow the cable to be freed from the helm.
