I was hoping to get some info and opinions on what you guys are running for props. I have a 28ft daytona with about 1100 horsepower and have mercury maximus 5blade 28 pitch props, they are turning in. The boat jumps out of the water and accelerates great but, can barely get over 85. Thanks in advance.

Eliminator installed their drives at different heights and this will make a difference on the type of prop that works best. How far up or down from the bottom of the boat are the center of your prop shafts?
I'm running boxes and my shafts are level with bottom. My boat liked Bravos the best or rounded ear Hydromotives.
A friend of mine had the same boat with boxes and his drives were about 1" higher. His boat really like the Hydromotive 5 Blades. His boat was very touchy to get on plane with 34" or 36" Bravo Ones.

Prior to my 36, I had a 2007 28 Daytona with 496 HO's. I had XR drives with 1:36 reduction.
Best prop for me were labbed 32 5 blade maximus with shaved diffuser rings....I would barely bang the rev limiter - jumped out of the hole..cruising speed was great...top end was solid.
...but I was only spitting 425HP aside. If you're blowing more hp than I was, you could certainly spin more wheel than I was...a 28 pitch sounds under-propped to me. I would think you'd be all over the rev limiter with that wheel.
My X-dim was pretty close to level with sponson.

I got a pair of bravo 1 30pitch from chuckels and tried them out last weekend. I got a little more speed out of them about 3mph, but not quite what I was hoping. Is there anyway to check the gear ratio without breaking down the drives? thanks
