I have an '02 Myco with Titan Electric over hydraulic with a drawtite Pilot controller in my truck. Two months ago everything worked fine. Today I pulled the boat from lake ontario and basically had no trailer brakes. The battery on the trailer was fine and the controller in the truck showed connection and appeared to be normal. When I pulled the emergency disconnect nothing happened, (pump did not activate). This is the first generation black and white Titan unit on the trailer. Anyone with thoughts would be appreciated, I plan to tow around 100 miles Friday and really don't want to rely on the trucks brakes. I contacted Myco and they gave me acontact at Titan but haven't heard back from him yet. Thanks for any advice, Mike

You have lights but no brakes, what truck?

Inside the frame rail, pop open the junction box and see how things look. If it gets wet, which depending on how low its mounted--it will; you could have a corroded mess in there.

The truck is an '06 2500hd Duramax. The fact that the emergency break away isn't working leads me to believe that it isn't on the truck side. Also, all the wiring to this is basically all from the plug and on trailer battery box which is mounted relatively high on the trailer.

obviously the pump isn't running. hotwire the pump to 12V to rule that out, then check and clean all the wiring on the trailer side. also make sure you have 12V at the plug on the truck you could have blown the 12V line fuse in the box under the hood (can't remember the position without going out to look), and yes you'd still have lights.

then it's the brainbox.

This happened to me on a 07 classic, check the fuse, GM does not put this fuse in there trucks.

Thanks guys, I will troubleshoot once I get out of work. I don't see the truck fuse causing it since the breakaway isn't working and the on trailer battery is fully charged.

same thing was wrong with mine, bearing was seized in the brake motor( corrosion) , had a new bearing pressed on and cleaned the motor and has worked fine .

I had a corrosion problem with mine. It was mounted too low on the trailer. It would get wet backing into the water. Pull the white cover off and look at the circuit board. I raised it up once I bought the replacement unit. They are not cheap. If that is not it check your trailer wire connections. You may not be getting power to the blue wire (brake controller) or the 12v or the ground.

I'd still check the pump with 12v though it could be a wiring issue in the trailer harness

ie: verify the pump doesn't run.
