Default 2001 - 42 fountain - shorties ????

I just purchased a set of IMCO SC drives with 2 " shorties. Has anyone run this set up? How did it do? 4 blade or 5 blade props?

Let us know how it works out. You may have to go with 5 or 6 blades to make it work. You should try to get your hands on a set of Maximus props to start. Not sure if Whipple upgrades on on your agenda, but more power will enable you to take advantage of the increased drive hieght.

Your boat is the same year as mine, except mine is a 35. My Bravos were buried, so the -2 shorties worked wonders.

I am sure you will benefit from shorties. My 2000 38 with 500EFI's picked up 3-4 mph. I had no problem getting on plane with full tanks, 12 people in the boat and standard Bravo 1 4-blades. Easily could have gone with 3" lowers.

What Pitch props are you running and are they labbed also how low were your drives before you put on the 2" shorties.I have the same boat so i was wondering if our x dimension is the same before i do the shorties.
