Built motor, stock heads (not a good thing), 6PSI M-1 @5200RPM. Need a good head and intake gasket that will not blow. Part #s if you have them please.

I have a set of heads off of a hp500 that are ported and bowl blended by mesa balancing. Have Iconel exhaust and super duty intake valves. I ran them for only 10 hours until I spun a bearing in motor, and now I will switch to a set of merlin heads that I have once motor is back together. They made 630hp on my 509. They are set up for hydrailic roller cam. They are ready to run. Make an offer, I have no idea what to ask for them. They are the mercruise equivalent of 088 heads. I can get the casting number if needed, but they are the heads that came on the carb hp500. They are at the machine shop now, as I took them with the block to make sure they were ok. I can pick them up anytime if you want pics.

Sorry, thought you were looking for a set of heads. I would think that with the amount of boost you can run on a two bolt main, cast internal mpi motor, any quality gasket would work as long as it was correct size for your bore. Like said above cometic seem to be popular, but are fairly pricey for a head gaskets. There are a lot of MLS gaskets out there now, especially if you are still at stock bore 454.

Thanks for the idea on the heads but I actually allready have merlin heads (oval port). I listed stock head and should have just explained oval port. the intake plentum dictates oval as I did not want to change it out. The crank is still cast but does have 4 bolt mains.
