Default Sweet old classics

Here's a few pics of a couple sweet Donzi's at my neighbors cabin over the weekend. The paint on the orange 18 was incredible. what a fantastic restoration, the factory could not have done better.

-Got a chance to run the little 14 Baby and words can't describe how well this tiny hull works. It's got a 3.0 Merc and runs mid fifties. It behaves like a much larger boat. Anyway, just some neat stuff to share.

Both boats are cool. I love the single bench seat in the smaller blue boat. You don't ever see that but it definetly gives it a neat look. I like it a LOT!

biggus, they are really two great boats, did scott give you a ride in the "pumpkin"

blue bird is a special little boat that rides way bigger than it's size. I had the pleasure of riding with Richard up at lake george the water was rough I was having carb issues on my 16 and had to turn back. Richard said come on I'll drop you off at your card stop. I thought it was too rough to run in a 16 why am I getting in 14???? she handled like a 20 footer I was impressed

not sure why but I bet it has to do with the hull sharp keeled 24 degree full inner strakes and the balance of the benchseat it handles snotty water very well

also a little trivia those two boat models are the only sharp keeled full inner strake classics Donzi ever built

What is the model year and size and if possible the production numbers of the Blue boat, my uncle was telling me about a bench seat type of boat he was in some 30 years ago and i thought he was talking about a Critterion but it seems it could have possibly been a Bench Seat Hornet. He knew of a all red one with a white stripe and a yellow one. Did all bench seat hornets have windshields or just some, Could you post some more pictures so i can show him Thanks

Blue boat is a 14, not a Hornet. AFAIK, all the Hornet bench seats came with windshields.
