Default Newbie needing some help on Corsa 26

Hey guys! Newbie from Alabama here. In the process of purchasing a Corsa 26 and could use some help and input. I can find very little on the web about them and really this site has the only info i've found at all. All I know for sure is the registration shows it to be a 1989 Corsa and 26ft in length. The boat is SBF 351w powered with a volvo 270 out drive.

What is the general consensus on these boats? Anybody have/had one and care to share their experience with it? Any known problems or things to look for before I pull the trigger?? any ideas what this boat would be worth in "good" condition? Any place for accessories or replacement parts?

I'm planning on a full resto including painting the hull and possibly going to a F.I. SBC powerplant.

It's identical to this picture posted by NJThumper in another thread but this is the only pic i can find that looks exact.

Thanks for your time and info,

Nick Jones

I own one now. It is listed in the Classifieds under Race Boats. The boats are fast and run great in the rough. I love mine.

I sold mine last season. Like Mike said they are great in the rough. Like any older boat just check for soft spots in the transom and stringers. It's a fun boat to drive.

Thanks for the input thus far. Hopefully some others would chime in as well. If anybody has pictures of these boats, please email them to me at jones3935 at charter.net

Thanks guys!

NJThumper.... got any cabin pics? Im particularly interested in knowing if these boats have a step down or if its all flat. The boat im looking at has been carpeted up and I cant tell without pulling it back. But I know the earlier martinis and really all other boats ive looked at that share that hull design have the step down.

And can anybody tell me (sorry ive only had bow riders so far) what the cable running from bow to the windshield is called and its purpose?
