Anybody Know this 47 Lightning
#1
I asked this question couple days ago in the Fountain Section and only 1 response.
Anybody know anything about this:
http://www.yachtworld.com/boats/2002.../United-States
I have been watching this boat for over a yr. now, I think. Last yr it was over $200,000 and now under
$140,000.
A 47' with 575's in it and know body bought it yet. 7yrs old and only 175hrs. When was the last time it was in the water?
I know triples are not the most popular right now.
If there is good history behind this one, it is really starting to look appealing.

The original owner was an older gentleman that used to run it with the FL powerboat club in the winter season. I am pretty sure he traded it for another 47 Fountain.

Fixed the link.
Most response are referring to the Triples being a problem.
I know this maybe is an issue why it has not sold, but I was more interested in finding out if there is Mechanical/Electrical/Structural reasons.
I'm not to concerned about the Trips as far as fuel goes, at least not at today's prices. I cruise around at 40mph most of the time now, but would like to have the power to get up and go when desired.
I have a feeling Twin 850's will probably consume the same amount of fuel.

Plus it's nice to have three props getting a 47' Fountain on plane.

I guess I do have some limits.
The economy is pretty bad right now, but it has not effected the reduction of price on the new ones enough for me.

Really seems like a lot of boat for the money, but.......................................TRIPS,.. ...........ugh.
I'm thinking of THREE of everything, routine maintenance alone would get expensive, not even mentioning 3 of them to refresh or worse.
