S&S Cycle of Viola, Wisconsin acquired certain assets of Crane Cams, Inc. on May 7, 2009. Those assets include the inventory, intellectual property, and trademarks for all Crane automotive and motorcycle electronic and valve train products. The intellectual property portion includes designs, drawings, and cam profiles. Crane Cams was founded in 1953, and like S&S Cycle, founded in 1958, it has become a respected and iconic brand in the high performance industry.

Manufacturing as mentioned moved to S&S cycles and I would think are up and going by now. The management/design staff have stayed in Daytona although to a new, smaller office. I believe they were planning to keep the same distribution channels and product was supposed to be available either by now or soon.

Panther - take a look at the dates. Scorpion was in the running but S&S outbid them if I understand right.
As for production, I believe Crane facility was dated and the S&S is much more state of the art, but that is all secondhand. However, looking at the equipment that was available @ auction thru Crane I would have to guess S&S is a step towards an even better product...
