Default gen v fuel pump question

i have a 97 mercruiser gen v raw water pump that has the fuel pump mounted on it.is it ok to remove the fuel pump and block off the hole with a big block block off plate...so i can run a high flow performance 600 plus hp electric pump?it looks like theres not enough room to run a mechanical pump on the engine(dart block).the raw water pump will be in the way.

thx tim

Yes you can. Just remember to refill with lube.
