Some friend's of mine are having another(3-4 years running) poker run at Pates Ford Marina in Smithville Sept 19th. I will post the details later today or tomorrow. It's not very long but it is alot of fun. The Marina's # is 615-597-4807. The lake is down but it still looked good this weekend. Come up and have a good time.

I did not know they ever had a poker run, how many boats come?

It started a few years back. Mostly people on that end of the lake with cruisers and pontoons. Last couple of years a few fast boats came up. I'll post details tomorrow.

Entry fees:
$25per hand
1st,2nd, and 3rd place awards

$10 per hand “worst hand”


1st stop-Cedar Creek
2nd stop– Pine Creek
3rd stop-Ferguson Creek
4th stop-Fall Creek
5th Stop– Sligo Bridge

*All stops to be marked by balloons on boats.



All Participants are asked to bring one side dish for the “pot luck dinner” at 2:00 pm under the pavilion. Pates Ford Marina will provide the entrée. We will begin opening cards at 3:00 pm.


Prizes to be announced prior to the start of the event. Proceeds from entry fees to benefit a charity in the greater Dekalb County area.

The boat club has a lunch run at Old Hickory on the 19th.
