winch strap help

Default winch strap help

ok my strap broke.
pulled old one off.
new one came with bolt,
????
I dont have a bolt on my old one..
I cant seem to get any tension rolling it up
Any suggestions

Straps have either a bolt that goes across the winch drum,or a tapered tail that you thread out and in the large holes on one side of the drum,then wind the strap over the tail You can drill 2 holes for the bolt,better choice is cut the bolt loop of and roll the strap up to thread thru the side holes. Or you could just buy a new strap with the tapered tail.

and drilled hole and put grade 8 bolt.
