Anyone have a stock Merc 496HO lifter go bad?

i had one go bad early this year,,,it broke the clip ,,and wouldnt let the oil compress inside,,,it kinda of turned into a solid lifter and shot the push rod up and off the rocker arm,,

Not a lifter but a rocker arm wallowed out on the stud.

How many hours on the engine?

Was this a stock 496HO?
