If your not in a canopy boat you don't strap in.

Agree on the website/reporter. Reggie and I disagree on the latter. Reggie has forgotten more than you and I even know about racing and performance boating. See the link. Am I saying that lapbelts/harness's should be worn all of the time, no. I don't believe Reggie is either. Just when the captain believe's that the speed of the boat and the water conditions warrant it. IMHO

I am not saying that a mult-point harness is for everyone. A simple lap belt has it's merits. Example of merit: A boat accident in Florida involving a boat that stuffed and the rearseat passenger cracked their pelvis. Now call me crazy, but a lap belt may have saved injury to that passenger. After all, this thread is about safety-------isn't it? Note: Accident was no fault of the boat design or manufacturer.

roll the boat over with a lap belt and when it comes upright the riders may be missing parts.
water is like concrete at high speeds.

I would rather get tossed out of a boat with a lifeline on than stay inside and drowned.

I do respect your position and thank you for wearing your Lifeline Vests. Don't forget to ATTACH your tether cord. Kill switches don't work if the tethers are laying on the floor.

Come on, News these days is theater for the easily influenced mental midgets, look who the media elected President, that should be enough for anyone to tune them out.
