had my trim stop working yesterday. troubleshot it to a bad ground to the trim pump. am going to replace it and run the new one directly to the battery. any ideas on size? no real legible writing on the existing wire.. tia, mark

8 ga wire is plenty.

They come from Merc. with 10 ga. As long as it is not a really long run(over 20 ft), 10 ga will be fine.

Better to much, than not enough .I usually use 8 gauge if I'm making them. But #10 is what merc supplies.
