just saw a video on youtube that looks like an HTM promo video the guy is driving a SR-24 with a 540cid 8-71 blower pushing 900 hp...
he said he is hitting 124 mph, how is this possible with only 900 hp?

I agree, I have an SR with 920hp and 940 tq and it does 116mph gps, in an SR for those numbers if I recall Steve saying they needed more like 1100hp to get there but its certainly possible with lots of hp. Steve actually had one over 140mph with big power.

lots of times Steve skewed actual hp numbers on his test boats. he says 700 when its more like 1000 ( which is sick in my opinion). His 144 mph boat was every bit of 1500 hp ~

Back in 2001-2 a friend of mine (Kenny Gaumer)had a sr-24 with 1300hp and it was radared numerous times at 133 at a radar run at 34 degrees timing. It was a 572 w/ a 1471. Testing before the radar run it went 135 on the gun at 34 degrees. With another few degrees timing it would have went 135-140 for sure.
