Control it via steering input, but if there is a lot of slack in your steering system then it is harder.

original prop was a 23p mirage 3 blade, now have 24p 4 blade bravo one. this made no difference with chine walk problem, only performance. has better low end and mid range but lost 2 mph on top end

steering feels tight. I have considered external hydraulic steering or/ and trim tabs, but I feel that maybe it has more to do with hull design?

I had the same problem with our Checkmate 259 Convincor. Now spinning a B1 labbed prop with full hydaulic steering and HP tabs 22 inch in length the chine walk can be eliminated. At speeds around 70 GPS the boat can still chine walk a little with tabs all the way up. I can drop the tabs just a touch and the boat settles right down. The problem is I will loose 2mph! To eliminate the chine walk it seems you just need a little more wetted surface which in return scrubs speed. I have thought about adding more power to this hull (460 now) to get into the 80 plus mph range. I know the hull can handle it the way it is currently setup however it may not do it as efficiently as some other hulls similar in size ie a 26 Eliminator Daytona. I think I am going to sell the boat and buy a hull that was designed to run fast up top. I am sure there will be trade offs of course but such is life.

I have considered selling and upgrading as well. The problem is I want the best of both worlds.I have A family that likes to ski and tube and I want to be able to fly down the lake at 80+ mph.The stingray 23' cuddy with 502mpi does A good job at pretty much doing both, but naturally I want more.Thought about A baja 25ol, but it does nt sound like they go much faster without allot of mods,so maybe just keep what I have and put money into it.which
I don't mind doing as long as the hull can handle it.

Ever heard of water skiing or tubing behind A CAT??

Our 202 stinger does it at about 65/70 mph. We just hold on drive thru it then it takes it's set on the v and it's good to go.Takes some driving though.Be careful .If it is to bad ,it's not safe.JOHN

A 23 Stingray is not made to go 80.

I have heard mixed reviews about water skiing and tubing behind a 26 Daytona. Hopefully I will be able to answer this question myself in about 6 months.
