I'm in central WA. on the Columbia River but have a place in the San Juans and spend lots of time on lake Chelan. I was hoping to meet up with people that know about the boating world up here.

BG - we recently moved to Newcastle, WA. We've been boating on Lake Washington (1 mile from home), but we will definitely be exploring the other parts of the state next season. We're really looking forward to Chelan!

Hope to see you out there.

As far as boating goes in the San Juans, I live there and work in a marina up there if you have any questions. It's no Cresent Bar, but it's a lot of fun and dangerous.

Beergeek,
What's the air/water temp in Vantage in early April? I'm thinking about a spring break trip.

Can I chime in here?

Brrrrr. Air is cold, water is colder. Runoff time of year. Vantage/Crescent Bar is questionable even for Memorial day. That being said, Labor day last year was a bust.

Lake Chelan for the poker run in early July is usually warm air, COLD water.

But as always up here in the NW, wait a couple hours and the weather changes, except in August.

My crew is heading to Desert Storm in April. First outing on the boat up here will be mid May at the earliest.

Prepare for rain on opening day, memoriual day at crecent bar, and also the lukemia cup. Pretty much all the runs in July, August and Crecent Bar for labor day are nice though.

This year i am not bringing my boat back from Havasu until June.....Too nice down there to gamble on rain....
