I'm cannot answer that question, but I would be more interested in what your Air to fuel ratio is.

Default 12.9-13.0 AF ratio

Air fuel ratio was 12.9 on the dyno if that helps. But since then it has been richened up in the boat because the egts are in the 1350 range at wot.I would like them to be a little less.also the egt probe is in the head just inside the exhaust flange.Could that be why it is so high?Where are they normally taken?

that is on the high side, we run our top sportsman motor right at 1320 taken about 2" out from the head on top, and that makes a differnce as well, if yours are true, richen it up more, or back the timing down a little...Rob

Normal dyno headers have the probs as Ez said.. down the pipe about 2".
The burn right at the flange will be different. Been a while since I did that sort of thing. I had probs right at the flange, drilled in the head. But I cant remember if it was hotter or colder?? Sorry. But there can be a differnce.
Like he said back down the timing and see if it helps.
Do you have a wideband O2 sensor, that will tell you if you are going rich and not helping temps.

I'm running 1280 f /1300 f right @ the head and manifold on cylinder #7 The closer you can get the better you will be you want the temp right at the port if possible that is the best place to read the temp in the cylinder if your running 1300 at the top of the manifold or in the riser your going to be higher than 1300 @ the head.

What kind of pistons ?? What water temp ? Steel or aluminum heads. Are you running a intercooler? All setups or different.

EGT is EGT no matter what the hardware. Take some timing out and then richen up if that doesn't get you down temp wise. As ezstriper said. 1300 is getting warm, iron or aluminum. Probe at the port (is where you want it). What timing are you running?

Wink Fire Up The Barbi!!

12.9 to 13.0 is way to lean for a blower motor under load at 6 lbs of boost. Fatten that thing up to around 11.5 to 11.8 minimum or you are going to cook the pistons. You can always make more power at the leaner mixtures, but you probably won't keep it together running in those numbers. As for EGTs with 12.9 to 13.0 air fuels you would easily be seeing 1350 to 1400 EGTs and thats too high. Get the EGTs back down around 1250 to 1300 or even those Inconel valves and the seats will be giving up the ghost soon under boat loads!

Good Luck!

Best Regards,
