i just had the motor rebuilt and im wondering does in make a difference to use brass or steel freeze plugs in the motor thanks james

They need to be brass for marine use.

James,
I always use brass but ... if the engine is a closed system with antifreeze, it should not make a difference. If it is "raw" water cooled then it most certainly needs brass.

I even run brass in the race car no antifreeze.
