Default Baja screwed up my new Boat

Dealer just called to tell me my new Baja 232 is ready to be shipped from the manufacturer and should arrive within 10 days.
The only problem is they screw up the color scheme. I ordered the Boat with Boss I graphics Color 1=White 2=Dark Violet 3=Red 4=Dove.
They built it with Boss I graphics Color 1=White 2=Black 3=Dove 4=Red.
My options are take this boat as is with $2,000.00 off the price and or they build a new boat with the correct colors and take delivery end of May

The $2,000 off the price was manufacturer’s unsolicited first offer, may be able to get that to number higher say $3,000.

Any suggestion or comments would be appreciated

If you would be happy with the new colors go for the credit. If you really wanted the other colors tell them to try again. When I ordered my boat they messed up one think that bothered me. I though about leaving it as is. After talking to a number of people & much thought I felt as much money as I was spending everytime I would get in boat it would piss me off, so I had it redone. I am now happy that I did.

Just me, I would make them build me a new boat and either give me a huge discount or give me a boat to use until this one arrived. Did you put any money down?

Stupid mistakes like this should not be tolerated.

do ya think it was a mistake?????? Think about it. Only so many ways your boat is gonna be different than someone else's. Negotiate more if you can, get the boat you ordered. Its a big committment. Hard to believe you can spend that many 1000's and they cant fill the order correctly. HMMMMMMM

back in 93 my friend ordered one of the origional 24 sst's(guages and a mpi motor) with an unusual color pattern. Baja called the Dealer to confirm it before they did it because they thought it would look terrible. They did it and Guess what was the featured color combination the next two years at Baja....Yup the colors he ordered. Yeah I forget but I think it was bblack/purple/red

As someone already mentioned, you're going to be pissed off every time you look at the boat, because it's NOT the colors you had wanted.which will take alot of the enjoyment away from owning it.For the kind of investment you are making, get everything as close to the way you want it as you can.
And make the dealer or factory make the added wait worth your time,or tell them the deal is OFF

Like you, I ordered my boat from the factory specifically the way I wanted it. Spent a year pondering the colors I wanted. If they had not made it with the correct colors, I would have had them do it again. If I had wanted a boat with the wrong colors, I would have bought one off a dealer lot.

Do you like the colors they did? If so, I would take the discount and run. Like you said...try to get more than 2k off the price.

I stated earlier that I would have a new boat made but after taking the colors as you list them above and plugging them into Baja’s online design studio, turns out I would have ordered it the exact way they “screwed up” and made it - but that’s just me. You basically end up with black and red graphics. I think black and red are the quintessential performance boat graphics colors. Especially if you have those checkered flag graphics that are present in the Boss 1 combo. I think any checkered flags have to be black!!

Have you plugged the colors into the online design studio? If not, do so. Looks good.
