Default 700 SCI Merc motor

Whats the deal with the 700sci? The redline is 6200 to 6400 rpm?

Those motors have a stage II Whipple kit on them.
Stock, the rev limiter is at 5400 rpm.

This kit consists of a re-programed PCM, which raises the rev-limiter, and alters timing and boost controls. It also consists of a water re-route to the innercooler, and a smaller pulley.

A Merc 700sci in this state of tune produces aproximately 820hp +/-

Dustin has done a really fine job of producing horsepower upgrade kits for the 600sci/700sci motors.

I love my 600sci Stage II.

Hope this helps,

Chris

My buddy just bought an Outerlimiuts with 700's. Seems like right on the edge with the hydraulic roller lifters.

How much was the kit?

Well we have been up and down this road several times.

How long will motors last with that power

what about the ability of the NXT transmissions/clutch to handle the power

Have quite a few customers with 200+ hours on them and were talking extremely hard hours. I know of one thats been in 10 poker runs. Zero issues, keeps going strong. NXT's really have no issues, the weakest point is the trans, but as of now, I only know of one customer that had one fail, and it failed twice stock so something else is wrong. Customer replaced trans with Bam's.
