I recently bought a 1995 16 Classic (2 weeks ago!). First time out I found that the engine would rev to almost 6000 RPM with the current prop. Recommendation for WOT is 4400-4800 RPM. Existing prop is marked: HD Quicksilver 48 16320 A423 P. This boat has a 4.3 Litre LX Mercruiser Alpha One, 180 HP, 1.84:1 gear reduction. The existing prop looks to be in good shape with no dings, dents, etc. Actual measured diameter of this prop is 13.5". I would like to limit the RPMs to the recommended slot but don't have much experience with the black art of choosing the proper prop. Thanks in advance for any and all help and advice.

You will find lots of help @ Donzi.org, however a 3 blade M+ or turbo will probably work best IMO, looks like your running a 23p now??? Don't know what your speed is but if your running 1.84 gears??? and a 23p prop spun to 6000 rpms then you running close to 62-65 mph with a 4.3 for power?? sure your gears are 1.84's and your tach reading correctly??
