Default #6 plug-in transmissions

Does anyone know if Mercury made 2 different tailstocks for a #6 plug-in transmission? I have one, part # 847145T1 that has a list price of approx. $5000 and I was told that there is another one from Mercury, that does the same function, for a lot less money. Thanks for any help.

Try Putting your part number in this link to see how much you could save.

Or you might want to try calling either Bam marine or Boatswainslocker, They might be able to help you out also. Boatswains is a transmission warranty/ Customer pay rebuild center for mercruiser and others. You Could also try asking boatswainslocker if they have any good used parts laying around in the back, You never know. Good luck.

THe tailstock is available without the linkage & mounting hardware. See #27

Thanks Marc. It is hard to believe that the "lever kit" alone ( with a few more misc. parts ) is worth approx. $1300 more than the basic housing.
