For a bigger, heavier boat I think a bunk will support the boat better. I think rollers will eventually warp or put dimples in the hull. also with rollers you better be ready B/C they work to good at the ramp.....see a couple of boats slide right off the trailer when backing down the ramp.

Bunks...more support. Just back in far enough next to a courtesy dock and you can float the boat on and off the bunks.

Roller trailers will warp the hull bottom over time. None of the high end trailer manufacturers use rollers.

Bunk, too many problems with rollers, also I have seen some boats roll off rollers accidentially

This is offshore boating - bunks.

Rollers are for Boston Whalers....

IN all seriousness I would not want much weight on rollers. With the bunks it is easy to get the trailer in just the right distance so that you can bump the boat up on the bunks, and it will help steady it with the resistance.

Bunks only. Wouldn't consider rollers for anything.

Bunks on the average will give you 5 times morre support against the hull and it is spaced more evenly. The only drawback is if you are on a shallow ramp there may not be enough water to submerse the boat and trailer deep enough into the water to float it off.Other than that bunks are the way to go. Also any boat over 26' should have target bunks on the front for additional keel support and it will also help centering the boat.
If anyone has other questions I have been selling repairing and making trailers for 30 years. I am here to help

I have a 23 1/2 foot boat right now and it is a roller trailer and i need to repair the hull. SO I am thinking it might be a good idea to take the rollers out and make bunks
