Default Lake Michigan - Chicago area guys

I was wondering if anyone had more info regarding some restricted boating areas on Lake Michigan from Chicago to Zion. I heard just a small piece of info on the radio this morning about someone setting up bouys in certain areas on Lake Michigan the restricts boating. Something about fear of terrism.

Anybody have more info on this, or am I hearing things again.

I heard that Navy Pier will be restricted to cruise boats only and in the vacinity of the pumping stations out in the lake.
Someone also said something about the Chicago River in the downtown area.
Thats all I heard so far.

Chicago sucks for boaters as it is. Thatll be the nail in the coffin if they close the river. If I cant blip the throttle under some unsuspecting pedestrians on bridges then why go at all. As far as bouys, I know they marked some shoals in the Wilmett area because of low water. Be careful, they are big metel bouys and are not lit. I had a close encounter with one at night.
