whats it take ...say a triple bravo set up or twin # 6 set up
if memory serves correctly..I thought reggie had around 1200 per side in the old ohio steel 42 when he set it at 123.....remember the triple scarab vs fountain twin wars of the 90's

I would go with staggered 700-800hp motors and Arnesons. The stepped Fountains run very well with Arnesons, no reason to think the straight bottoms can't.

You eliminate most the guess work if you can find the hull efficiency and to the estimated total in the water weight the boat will be at test time. You can then just plug in various HP options to get the desired speed. (see the Speed Calculator on the BAM website).
I would start by trying to find the owner of the Ohio Steel boat and see if they can help you with weight, drive height, hull efficiency, etc.
The low cost way to 100MPH+ in a old 42" Fountain?
Buy Ohio Steel!
