I bought a set of used drew marine shotgun tips . the older style with the holes in the flaps . It looks as though the butterfly opens from the top , not out from the bottom . does this make any sense ? I notice the newer style pivots from the top , opening at the bottom .. thanks in advance .

Turn them over

The arm attached to the pivot shaft should be pointing downward.
