Default Heavy duty gimbol ring with standard bell housing ????

Can you use a heavy duty gimbol ring with a standard bellhousing??? Or is the bell housing diferant??? can you mix and match.. . Some one sold me a heavy duty ring that I installed with out knowing they ordered the worng part untill I went to install the trim sensors. The bolt holes for the trim sensors are diferant. thats how I found out I have a heavy duty ring. do I need to buy a new bell housing to match ????

Yep, bell housing and tilt pins. Trim senders won't work with the HD ring, those 4 holes are for screws that hold the HD tilt pin in place. Sorry for the bad news.

HB, this should help you identify the stuff you need Bravo parts

Take a look at items 10 and 11 on the gimbal ring page in addition to the bell housing.

Default hd gimbel ring

You need to install the tilt pins, they can be installed by drilling the gimbel to fit the tilt pins , I've done this many times and it does work. Make sure you use the proper drill size, mic the tilt pin

What is deferent about the pins. are they longer or thicker??? When I installed everything it looked like it all went together okay. If I could see the deference in the two pins I would know right away.

The heavy duty pin is ss. much larger. Also there is not longer the use of the electrical sender because the HD pin replaces this. Must use mechanical indicators
