Default Duramax Performance Upgrades

I recently traded my gas 6.0L Chevy 2500HD for a 2008 6.6L diesel GMC 2500HD and was wondering if anyone on the boards has experimented w/ any of the available software upgrades. I'm less interested in obtaining MAX HP & more interested in increasing the fuel mileage as well. This vehicle is basically a daily driver for me so I'm talking about increasing non towing fuel mileage. Any additional benefits I might yield while towing will only be a bonus.

With all the different tuners and their claims out (Hypertech, Superchips etc) tough to tell whose really work.

I'm ok w/ installing a cold air box but would rather stay away from an exhaust system if possible.

Please share your experiences good or bad!!__________________

Quadzilla is good, dont get carried away, that engine is plenty capable in stock form. Also if you have any warranty issues, remove the programmer/programming. Most dealers will try to decline warranty on an engine or trans that has aftermarket programming.

Go with a PPE, thats pacific performance engineering. Get the Xcelerator series. It will make a huge difference. U can turn on/off your DPF, etc. EFI live is where its at if you want to tune multiple trucks and make max power

i have a 2008 chevy 3500 duramax. i have a quadzilla programer on the 70 hp tune and an aem brute force dry filter cold air kit. the tuner works great and is dpf delete capable. go with a dry air filter to prevent oil on the maf sensor.
