I hope you have better results than me. I have been up against the same thing also for a pair of 496's. I did some research on google however most everything I found pertained to SBC's. The annular sounds like their the way to on them however every application may vary. I did read one article on in regards to BBC's and it seemed to lean toward the downleg. There was one case though were the annualar worked well with the lower comp, large cam set up. Carbs noted above were BG Mighty Demons.

Lets hope some experts help us both out.

I certainly wouldn't call myself a carb expert but I have been running a pair of 825 Mighty Demon annular's for three years on a pair of 496's I built. When I was looking for carbs I also did a lot of research and I wound up talking to Doug ? (used to go by Rum Runner) when he worked for BG. I gave him all the info and he came up with a recommendation. Over all I've been happy with them. They have great response and haven't been any problem until the end of last season when one picked up a little debris or something. I took them off to freshen this winter.
