Default Opening storage compartments in cockpit?

We bought an 89 223 SS at the end of the season and the owner didn't know exactly what these doors were? There's two small black plexi-glass style doors with hinges in the cockpit on each side. One is below and just behind the passengers glove compartment, the other is below the throttle and shifter. I'm not sure if these are simply service access doors, or a way to access the forward sealed area along the sides of the boat, or some type of storage door? I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to open them? They have a circular shaped plastic doohicki that almost looks like some type of pastic rivet? There's about 3 feet of snow here and I'm dreaming of boating and just remembered them. Not sure if my description would work so I stole this pic to help

Storage, access, what ever you want. The key is a round one. Not sure if you remember the old Kryptonite locks but it is a key like that.

Quite often, the VHF is mounted on the back side of the door on the Starboard side.

The round key mentioned is readily available at any marine store.

Agree with all of the above. I've got a 357 and the VHF radio is mounted in the starboard cabinet. Port side storage is slightly different on my boat and I don't have the locking door on that side.

You need a Southco Key to open the compartments!!

Formula Dealer or someone who sells Southco should be able to help!

The key makes access easy, but turning the latch with a small pocket screwdriver should get them open as well.

A buddy took it this past spring, I just copied it off an email so the quality isnt the greatest. You should be able to double click on it to make it a little bigger.

Nice, it blows up into a really nice shot.

Let me guess, you were just coming out of the Sandusky channel, right?
