Default #5 to #6 on skater

I have a pair of #5 on my 32 Skater that were just went through bt TNT. I was thinking of going to a pair of wet sump #6 that I found a deal on, But I have been told their is no real advantage to the wet 6 over my #5s? I have 800hp blower motors but I am planning on changing heads, cams and boost and hope to get up to around 950hp. Is there enough bennefit to justify the wet 6s?
If I was to bite the bullet and get dry sump
#6s how much speed would I pick up over the wet 5 or 6? The boat is dialed in pretty good right now pulls 4-5% slip when stretched out.

Sound like you got her diald in purdy good. Bam say's SSM V is Rated for750 hp and up to 750 ft lbs of torque, we have used it successfully on up to 1000 HP. I really don't see a big advantage going to #6 with the HP you want to gain unless you want the extra "WOW" factor. If you were starting with a bare hull I would bite the bullet but what you have will work.

Some boats have picked up as much as 7-10 mph going from wet to dry sump 6's. You could buy the 6's now and then next year or two have them converted to dry sump when you have the money. I want to say it's about 10K for the pair. I don't think you will gain much if any speed from the 5's to wet 6's, but that is just an educated guess.

the slip wont change much (the swept back skeg is worth some effiency), you will just get more HP to the prop from a dry sump six, allowing you to run more prop.

you want swept skeg dry 6's if you are trying to gain efficiency, otherwise for reliablity, the #5's are fine. There is a 38 cig here in mn with 1100's, and he has never had an issue with his assortment of #5's and #3a's.

In a nutshell, if you like the way the boat handles/runs, don't change it. The #5's will take over 1000hp if you decide to add more power.
