Default 400 Xx Mercury Motor

does anyone have any info on this new motor !! is it based on the 3.2 ltr block ,2 stroke and what does she weigh !!!
if it is based on the 3.2 what changes have they made .

I hope it is based on the Optimax and not the Verado.

If anyone does have info please let me know via PM as well. We are in the beginning stages of a build and haven't purchased the motors we were going with yet. I'd really like to know if the 400xx would be an option.

That seems to be the issue. The twin OB cat with 300's are really appealing but the gear cases appear to be weak.

We have been hearing about this one, since Peter designed and built the first 30 Skater.

If it comes to fruition, it would really wake up by 30, but without a much better lower gear case, it would be entirely academic.

I guess we will know shortly.

I asked the Merc rep at the AC Boat Show about it yesterday. He said they are not building a 400. The 350 is still top dog. Maybe they dont want to let the cat out of the bag until Miami??????????
