Still got my dear 303 SR1 1994,but never used it,I will this year, and wonder,is it an old heavy and slow boat with 502 Mag Mpi`s,or ok,and what aboat the rest of it, is it a good boat,not many to see araond,thanks.

I almost bought one but settled on a 311 instead. On the sea trial the 303 did just under 70 MPH and handled extremely well in my opinion.

Thanks for reply,looking forward to try,posible I`ll put prochargers
on,but how long will the standard Bravo 1,5 last,anny experience?

My 303 (1993) 502 Mag with carbs, ran 72 most days with labbed props.

I really liked it. Handled really good all around. At top speed and trim, drag the port tab a little - like maybe 1/2 to 1 pin past neutral - and you will pick up a little. I ran a 3 blade labbed prop, can't remember the pitch.

As for the procharger, low boost and no hole shots, you might get the standard Bravo to last a season or two. If it were me, I'd get a pair of XR's and be done.

great to hear,I know you are rigth aboat the xr`s,not made up my mind aboat to keep the boat or buy a newer one but it is a nice sort of timeless boat, so I think I must give it a go for one season,thanks again.

I know I love my '92. Runs well north of 70 with fuel, gear and people on board. Carbed 454Mags with some mild 'love', and labbed 24p Bravo 1s. Handles great with the hydraulic steering.

axa is spot on with the recommendation of dropping the port plane a bit.

And you're right, compared to most of the entire SR1 line up, you really don't hear much on the 303.

It sounds to me that it dont need very much power to be a fun sunday cruiser,was afraid it was heavy out of the hole.Any problem with the cabin door hard to slide/stock ? Thanks

I had to replace the sliders on my cabin door. Any dealer can order them for you. Not a hard fix. I would replace them all while you are in there. You can call TAG, Scott Smith at formula for the part numbers, or Magic Float on the this forum will help if you don't have a dealer in the area. I think I still have a box with some 303 parts in it. I'd be willing to give them up to you 303 owners if you'd like CHEAP!! Might even have my old slides. Some were still good!

Coming out of the whole is something you definitely do not have to be concerned with. The 303 comes on plane effortlessly. Zero tab, zero cavitation, zero drama and very little power needed.

No issues with my cabin door/track.

do I need new slides or can I clean them up,boat is very lttle used,and how did you get to the slides? Easy to get in plane sounds good to me,thanks.
